I really like Life Before Legend though it is not as good as the other books because it is shorter 2 short stories one about about Day and one about June. They both are 12 then and adorable. Day is alone then, his knee really bad and my heart breaks reading about him.

The stories are really amazing. It takes about June's first day at Drake College and it talks about her brother Metias! June has not friends and she's just so alone and reading from her perspective is kind of sad! See all 18 questions about Life Before Legend…. Lists with This Book. Community Reviews. It's just two little stories about Day and June when they were younger. View 2 comments. I really like reading back stories, prequels, short story companions; they give us glimpses of what the characters' life had been before the storm finally hits.
Or in other words, what used to be their normal life. Life Before Legend tells us two different episodes of Day's and June's lives.

At some point they happened simultaneously, one event resulting from another. Episode one is about Day and his first kiss, yeah? I'm starting to adapt his dialect. We were able to meet some of the peo I really like reading back stories, prequels, short story companions; they give us glimpses of what the characters' life had been before the storm finally hits. We were able to meet some of the people that had been part of Day's life, if only for briefly. His story pinched my heart for how many times; Day had lost everything he once had: family, shelter, freedom. In this episode we saw how there were still people willing to take him in, to feed him.
He could be part of a family once again. People who would care for him, look after him. You could feel how Day longed for those things. Fate had been so harsh to him, and so you couldn't blame him if it came to his mind to stay. But he didn't. As he said, he was a phantom. He belong nowhere. And it's really sad. He's just a kid for him to experience such things.

I am listening to 'Almost Home' by Mariah Carey while typing this. Ahhh, the emotions. Anyway, Day reminds me of Percy Jackson because of the way he talks. There are some similarity, yeah? Meanwhile, episode two tells us the story of June on her first day at Drake. The latter events on Day's episode overlapped with the opening of this one, you'll see.
Anyway, in here we were able to find out what June really was like at university. You know, I think both June and Day have similarities in their life: that they don't belong anywhere, except in their family. June is the ever-so-famous prodigy of the Republic. And because she's that popular you would think that she would have many friends. Who wouldn't want to be friends with a celebrity? But no, June had never really had someone she could call a real friend.
June is very different from the people her age; she's superior. And even though she was put in a place where she could be with the people that matched her abilities, she still couldn't relate because she was too young to be friends with them. How difficult that must be. You don't know where you fit in.

- About the author?
The only place she could really belong was her home, with Metias and Ollie. And speaking of Metias, his appearance was a real treat! I think he's my favorite secondary character. He's the perfect brother any girl would kill for. Even though he and June had a wide age gap, it didn't serve as a hindrance to their relationship. In fact, they had the perfect bonding for siblings. And it made my heart break, knowing that Metias died in Legend : So overall, I rated this five even if it's a very short read.
It had Metias. And that's enough for me. View 1 comment.
